Blog tour RAKSHA by Frankie Rose

Blog Tour

RAKSHA
RELEASE DATE: 30.0413

She has no name.
She has her knives, her training, and her halo.
The first and second give her the ability to defeat the opponents she is pitted against each month. The third frees her from pain and fear. From any kind of emotion at all. Everything is as it should be. Everything is as it should be, until…
Fear… Pain… Anger… Happiness… Desire… Guilt…
 Love.
When a newly named Kit escapes the Sanctuary after killing her best friend, the last thing she needs is another knife in her hand. Or Ryka, the damaged, beautiful blond boy, whom she refuses to let save her. The sights and sounds of Freetown are new, yet one thing is familiar: the matches. The only difference? Where the blood in the Sanctuary landed only on the Colosseum floor, Kit will quickly learn that a river of red runs through Freetown’s very streets.
Without her halo, the inhabitants of Kit’s new home consider her saved, but is that really the case? Would she be better off free of the guilt associated with all the blood on her hands, or is the love of one boy worth living through all the pain?

Raksha is the call of the dead. It is the rumbling chant for fresh blood from the other side, the demand for sacrifice. The Colosseum is behind Kit. The fighting pits await.

RAKSHA EXCERPT

I mmm doubtfully, scratching Jada behind her ears. She seems to like that. Cai’s face is gone now, although who knows how long the reprieve will be. When I look up, Ryka is watching me pet Jada.

“She likes you,” he says.

“You sound surprised.”

“I’m not. My sister’s a good judge of character. If Liv likes you that pretty much means everyone else will. Including my fickle dog.” He whistles softly and Jada pricks her ears at the sound.

“And you?” I ask.

He smiles. “Seriously?”

I nod, and Ryka’s mouth pulls up to one side in a way that makes my heart race. He looks wicked.

“Well, we’re friends. In that weird way where you’re eternally mad at me, and I’m eternally imagining what you look like naked.”

“What!” I go to slap his arm but he ducks out of reach, grinning. From the way my insides react to his words, it feels like I’ve swallowed something entirely too hot. Is this normal? Is this what liking someone feels like? It’s confusing and frustrating and frankly—okay, I’ll admit it—kind of wonderful. But what the hell am I supposed to do with that? How do I change who I am, sixteen years of fighting, a life of blood? How do I trade in all that confrontation for something a little sweeter? I think it’s probably too late.

“I really didn’t do myself any favours when I met you, did I? You still don’t trust me?” Ryka tips his head forward, smiling ruefully at his feet when I shake my head. “In that case I suppose it’s pointless asking if you’ve fallen in love with me yet?”

The boy is determined to make me die a death this evening. It’s all I can do not to choke as I shake my head. “Sadly, no. I don’t think I want to kill you anymore, though. So there’s that.”

In the moonlight, Ryka’s eyes bow as he smiles broadly. “There is that. We’ll have to see what we can do to change your mind, though. I’ve never been very good at waiting for anything I want.” He shoves me gently with his shoulder and my heart stumbles.

“You want me?”

Ryka’s smile is devastatingly sharp. “You own me, remember. And now, after the other night…well, I guess I kinda own you, too.”

Meet Ryka.

Hey, my name’s Ryka, but most people call me Ry. I’m eighteen years old, and I’m a member of Freetown. The leader of Freetown, Grandfather Jack, actually IS my grandfather, and people kinda think I’m next in line to run the place when he steps down. I’m not so keen on the idea, though I found Kit half-drowned in a river just outside the Sanctuary boundary fence. She was stubborn then, wouldn’t let me help her, and not much has changed. Well, some things have changed...but we won’t go into that

Review: Coffee and Cockpits by Jade Hart

Coffee and Cockpits

My review:

Alright I finished this yesterday and I needed time to digest what I had finished. I didn't have any idea what was going on in this book, and that says something. I don't really mind when you can tell what is going to happen in the end, though I am floored that I had no idea where this book was leading. All I have to say is WOW, well done, I didn't see that twist in the lo at all, and it left my mouth gasping for air. Like shit, what is going to happen? Well done Jade Hart, I applaud you loudly. As a matter of fact--if this was a play and you were the leading role I would be standing up on my chair, screaming and yelling saying things I am sure would embarrass you lol.

This is a new author for me and she made me a fan with her intense story building and amazing way with words. This story was unique and exactly what I was looking for. One of the best books I have read all year!!! (though I haven't read many, I am trying to catch up) If I knew how to put the gifs up I would. I still have a hard time remembering I finished, I was to pick up my kindle and read it again.

I couldn't find the wrap for the top one, but I liked this one too, so I thought I might as well share the love with both covers.

Go and show her some major love !

Review for Selling Scarlett By Ella James

Selling Scarlett

I had wanted to read this book when I see how beautiful this cover was. I didn't even read the blurb. I seen banners posted that it was going to be on sell for the first couple days--and that sold me. I waited, not so patiently biting my nails in anticipation. I didn't know what to expect I didn't read the blurb until I actually bought the book. I dove into waters that were not clear and uncharted, and I am sure once you start to read this book it will become clear that it is a fantastic new concept for a book. Maybe there is more out there like it but I haven't ever read something like this before. Selling Scarlett was amazing and engaging. It made me cry, it made me laugh, and at times I was sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. It had a bitch for a villain, and a heroine that will have you rooting for her the whole time. Let me not forget about Hunter, good God, hunter!!!! Swooning isn't even the word I would use to describe what this character did to my insides. He was, so, so sexy. Having issues from his past Hunter needed to work things out in his life, it made you want to help him.

A story like this doesn't come alone often and when it does you just need to sink your teeth into it and hold on for the ride of you life. Ella James spun a mesmerizing tale, one that people will be talking about for years to come. I enjoyed this book immensely, and it will be one I will re-read over and over again.

I gave this book five out of five stars!!!!! recommended for an mature audience, for there are some scandalously sexy scenes *wiggles eyebrows*
